Celine Caddeo is ... Corsican, radiant, creative, adventurous, self-taught, passionate, spontaneous and mysterious all at once. She is an unconditional fan of Michael Jackson and Björk and also sings Ray Charles’ and Nat King Cole’s songs. She likes Groove, Jazz and Swing. Songwriter, composer and performer, she writes her songs in a cinematic way and enjoys surprising people when least expected.
She… instinctively familiarized herself with the piano at the age of 8 while developing her musical ear and auditory memory. She kept as a secret her intimate and sacred relationship with music and singing for a long time. Entering a musical school at the age of 16 she connected straight away with the audience. She was a successful candidate for the 17th session of the Rencontres d’Astaffort (writing training sponsored by Francis Cabrel who was riveted by her voice, in particular). She won a singing contest in Paris with her own songs, standing out from more than 5000 candidates.
Meeting Matt was one of her most significant collaborative milestones. The chemistry worked wonders. He first recorded and produced two of her songs at the famous Setai Recording Studio in Miami Beach - mastered a few weeks later by Ryan Smith himself (Adèle, Aerosmith, Beyoncé, Coldplay; Imagine Dragons, James Brown, Madonna, Rihanna, Taylor Swift...). Matt then accepted to be the project manager of her first album and helped her with writing her own story. This inspiring story includes being surrounded by a first-class team: Craig Ross (Lenny Kravitz’s guitar player), Jimmy Paxson (Ben Harper’s drummer), Jack Daley (Joss Stone’s bass player), Federico Gonzales Pena (Marcus Miller’s keyboard player), Aaron Fishbein (Shakira). A dream team for her first opus.
Celine made her first appearance in the media back in 2013. Ten million viewers discovered Céline Caddeö on ‘The Voice France’ (Season 2) when the 4 coaches turned their chairs during the blind auditions with her Björk interpretation of “It’s Oh So Quiet”. Coached by Garou, she seduced the audience with her masterful performances, her engaging personality, her courage and her originality. A lot of fans have kept on following her ever since. She then finished writing and composing her first album. Céline was looking for artistic chemistry to work with when she flew to Florida with the firm intention of meeting Matt Knobel, a gem in the world of sound engineering, who works with Lenny Kravitz (he also collaborated with Elton John, Chris Brown, Sheryl Crow, Lady Gaga, Lauryn Hill, Michael Jackson, Pharrell Williams, Jay Z…).
"There is something magical about Céline Caddeo. It is obvious that she has a true artistic potential."
She… took theatre and scenic expression classes and singing lessons in Los Angeles with Micah Plissner (vocal coach for Babyface, Katy Perry, Diddy, The Voice US, American Idol, Miss Saigon…). She opened concerts for Gérald de Palmas, Helène Segara, I Muvrini, Francis Cabrel, Stacey Kent, Trio Esperanza, Didier Lockwood, Louis Bertignac…
She sang a new unreleased repertoire of her English songs at the Ajaccio Jazz Festival and performed a sold out show with a 1900’s classic Jazz repertoire…
First appearance in the media…
Céline Caddeo selected self-production in order to remain independent in her artistic choices. She sings in English and in French. Her song titles are « Chocolate » (an unbridled and uncontrolled love similar to chocolate addiction to evoke the emotions and dependencies in relationships), « Kissing the Moonlight » (a journey towards an imaginary galaxy, her declaration of love to the universe), « Patchwork » (a night blue coloured song about the chromatic intensity of nuances and contrasts, the complexity of multiple personalities…), « Mystic » (an invitation to a journey through the depths of the Soul, an enchanting metaphor), « E tae soa » (written in an imaginery language « to return to our primitive state, stimulating our senses » and of course « Red’Volution » (the passionate, burning, animal-like love), the cornerstone of the album.
Her songs that vary from acidulous colors to pearl grey tones and between muted voices and tortured tones – capture moments of concentrated emotions, are written by a capricious and imaginative mind. In a nutshell, this is an album that exudes Céline. It takes us on a journey to her moon-shaped universe and leaves our imagination wandering.
With her talent and unique voice aside, Céline is a fiery character with a steely determination. Trusting her instincts, the young lady with flamboyant hair likes challenges, the ones she imposes on herself in order to move forward and improve herself, while mastering her choices and asserting her artistic identity. A passionate heart with velvet claws.
The Red’Volution has started…
